Qualifying Terms

At least 2/3rds of flat owners must be “qualifying tenants” under the rules.

To qualify, the original lease must be for more than 21 years.

There’s no limit to the number of flats owned by a single person or company owner.

In a mixed-use building, the non-residential content must be no more than 25% of the total floor area, excluding common parts.

No past or present residence status is required.
